A Message From Sam Huff
Welcome to Sam's Lost Mountain Barbecue and BBQ1. Lost Mountain Barbecue is one of the premier competition teams in the South and BBQ1 is our restaurant, which is located at 4944 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30068. If you are already familiar with us, you have noticed some changes to this website. If you are visiting for the first time, welcome! Let me tell you about some recent events and the growth we are experiencing.
Change of Name-But No Change in BBQ
As many of you know, David Poe and I became partners when we founded BBQ1 in 2004. From there, we created our second restaurant, BBQ2, in 2006. The restaurants, which are also known as Sam and Dave's, have achieved an outstanding reputation for serving only the highest quality barbecue. We have consistently been at the top of every "Best Of" list and our ZAGAT rating of Food Level 26 places us along side the best restaurants in the country. We could not have accomplished this without the support of our friends and customers.
While David and I remain close friends, as we have been for over thirty years, we have now decided to pursue different barbecue paths. For that reason, I will own and operate BBQ1 in East Cobb and David will own and operate Dave Poe's BBQ in West Marietta. The "BBQ1" will not change, but the parent company, as well as future restaurants and product lines will be known as Sam's Lost Mountain Barbecue.
Both David and I promise you that one thing will never change: the quality of our food. The recipes, cooking techniques, and fine ingredients will remain exactly the same as those you have come to enjoy.
All of you are invited to join us at BBQ1 and Sam's Lost Mountain Barbecue as we move into an exciting future of bigger competitions, expanded cooking classes, and restaurants that are committed to preserving the excellence in barbecue that you have come to love and expect.
