To all of you who have inquired about pre- purchasing a seat for Pork U for next year, let me explain our procedures. In February of each year we begin to set our schedule for the professional cooking competitions that we plan to attend. We lock these in first and plan the Pork U schedule around them, so we will not be able to determine the class schedule until around the middle of February. As soon as we set the schedule, we will post it on the web site, www.bbq1.net.
Unfortunately, we do not sell gift certificates for these seats. We tried that in years past and it resulted in chaos in scheduling. We only have 15 seats per class and they are in great demand, so to be fair to everybody, we set up a system where, once we post the schedule, the seats can be purchased on line, through Pay Pal, on a First Come- First Served basis. In years past, when we offered gift certificates, some people would never use them,( even though we had to reserve a seat), others would just show up at any class they chose, thinking that if they had the certificate that it would be good for any class, which caused major problems. All of these problems have been eliminated with the use of the automated on-line scheduling system. The web site will show how many seats remain for each class.
We offer one class per month, beginning in April, with the last class in September. Check the web site for all the details about what we do. We apologize for any inconvenience our policies may cause, but we believe this system is equitable for the greatest number of people.
